The Nigeria Police Force has moved the enforcement date for the Tinted Glass Permit requirement to October 2, 2025, giving vehicle owners more time to process their applications.

Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Monday, said the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, approved the extension after a sharp rise in applications through the official online portal.

Adejobi explained that the extension would enable a thorough review of all applications “to ensure that the permit is issued only to eligible and qualified individuals, in line with national security considerations.”

He added that the move would also allow for continuous improvement of both digital and physical verification systems to safeguard the permit process from abuse.

The Force further appealed to the public to report cases of extortion, hidden charges, or unauthorized processing to relevant authorities, including the dedicated hotline.

“The Nigeria Police Force appreciates the cooperation of the Nigerian people and remains committed to balancing public convenience with robust security measures for the safety of all,” Adejobi stated.
