This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

According to Onanuga, Mr. Nnaji, appointed in August 2023, tendered his resignation through a letter to the President, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve the country.

He stated that, in his letter, the former minister said he had become “a target of blackmail by political opponents,” adding that his decision to step down was in the best interest of the administration.

President Tinubu acknowledged Mr. Nnaji’s contributions to national service and extended his best wishes for his future engagements.
