LAGOS — Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday commissioned a series of development projects in Ibeju-Lekki, signaling what he described as a new chapter of growth for the coastal local government area.
The newly inaugurated projects include a multi-story administrative complex, a legislative council chamber, and a rehabilitated access road being part of efforts to rebuild after the destruction of the former council secretariat during the EndSARS protests.
In a statement released via his official social media handle, Governor Sanwo-Olu said the new council headquarters has been named after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He also laid the foundation for a housing scheme known as Citrus Gardens and disclosed plans for major road infrastructure that would connect Sangotedo to the proposed Lekki Airport through Omu Creek.
“This is what grassroots development should look like. It is real infrastructure, real impact, and real collaboration between the government and the community.
“Congratulations to the Council Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Olowa, and the good people of Ibeju-Lekki. You are building something truly impactful, and I’m proud to walk alongside you.,” the governor noted in his post.
