The President’s letter seeking Senate confirmation was transmitted to the upper legislative chamber on Monday.

The information was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga.

Dr Doro’s nomination comes after Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman in July.

Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr Doro brings over two decades of professional experience spanning clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community service in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, an MBA with a focus on IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice. A qualified Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Doro has served with the National Health Service (NHS) in urgent care units, GP practices, walk-in centres, and hospitals.

The nominee is also known for mentoring young people and championing social development projects within the diaspora and local communities.
