Activities for the programme are a candlelight procession, cultural displays, community engagements, lectures, stage drama and film screenings designed to reflect the town’s historic role in the transatlantic slave trade and its eventual abolition.

With his years of experience in broadcasting and grassroots reach, Mr. Ola will coordinate media coverage before and during the commemoration, to engage community platforms and national outlets.

As preparations are going on for the celebration in Badagry, residents are urged to witness the show.
