The Federal Civil Service Commission has announced dates and examination centres for the 2026 Directorate Level Promotion Examination for accredited candidates.
The Commission disclosed this in a circular dated September 8, 2026, signed by its Chairman, Prof. Tunji Olaopa, directing affected officers to take note of their examination schedules and venues.
The Local Leg of the examination is scheduled for Monday, September 21, to Wednesday, September 23, 2026, covering candidates across the applicable Grade Levels.
The examination will take place in seven locations representing the six geopolitical zones and the Federal Capital Territory. The centres are Lafia, Nasarawa State, for North Central; Kaduna, Kaduna State, for North West; Bauchi, Bauchi State, for North East; Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for South South; Ibadan, Oyo State, for South West; Enugu, Enugu State, for South East; and Abuja for the FCT and Commission headquarters.
The FCSC directed candidates to sit only at the venue stated on their examination ID/card and report by 7:00 a.m. prompt. It advised them to verify their examination details early and make arrangements to reach their designated centres ahead of time.
For officers participating in the Foreign Leg, the examination will hold on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at centres in Ottawa, Canada; London, United Kingdom; Beijing, China; and Cairo, Egypt.
The Commission also directed Ministries, Departments and Agencies, Permanent Secretaries, Accounting Officers and Chief Executive Officers to ensure that all affected officers receive the information contained in the circular and comply with the examination arrangements.
