President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, ahead of the 13th edition of the Africa CEO Forum scheduled to begin on Thursday.
A statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the Nigerian leader was received at the Presidential Wing of the Kigali International Airport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu, and Rwanda’s Minister of Defence, Juvenal Marizamunda.
Also on hand to welcome the President were the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Mohammed Mohammed, the Nigerian Chargé d’Affaires in Rwanda, Ibrahim Zanna, and the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare.
The Africa CEO Forum, founded in 2012 by Jeune Afrique Media and co-hosted by International Finance Corporation, has grown into one of the continent’s leading gatherings of private sector executives, investors and policymakers.
This year’s edition is themed, “The Scale Imperative: Why Africa Must Embrace Shared Ownership.”
During the forum, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to speak on “Holding the Line: Nigeria’s Reform Bet in a Fractured World,” where he will highlight the impact of ongoing economic reforms in Nigeria.
The President is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with African and global business leaders as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s position in continental economic discussions.
The statement added that Tinubu would use the summit to reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to African unity, stronger regional economic ties and strategic partnerships aimed at promoting private sector-led sustainable development across the continent.
