A statement shared by United States President Donald Trump outlined plans for a targeted maritime blockade on Iranian cargo while announcing fresh trade and investment arrangements with Gulf states.
The statement was issued by Trump through his official social media account, where he detailed the administration’s position on military operations, regional security, trade, and investment.
Trump said oil production was reaching unprecedented levels, crediting the U.S. Armed Forces for maintaining stability in the region. He praised Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine, Commander of the United States Central Command Admiral Brad Cooper, and members of the military for their roles.
“The Strait of Hormuz is open to ALL Ship traffic except for Iran,” Trump said, adding that the restriction was “because of their lying, violent, malicious leadership.”
The President announced that the United States would impose “a FULL Blockade, but only on Ships coming to and from Iranian ports, or carrying anything have to do with Iranian cargo.”
Trump also disclosed that discussions with Middle East leaders had produced a new economic arrangement. He said he had decided “to replace the 20% United States Reimbursement Fee with Trade and Investment Deals that the various Gulf States will be making into the United States.”
He described the planned investments as “MASSIVE” and said they would benefit both the United States and participating Gulf nations. Trump added that the agreements would increase foreign investment, expand factories, plants and equipment across the country, and create “additional millions of High Paying AMERICAN Jobs.”
Reaffirming his administration’s position on Iran, Trump declared, “America is WINNING again, winning like never before,” before adding, “IRAN WILL NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!” He concluded the statement by thanking the public “for your attention to this matter.”
