Police Pledge Safety for Journalists on World Press Freedom Day

The Nigeria Police Force has paid tribute to the media for its critical role in shaping national development, as the world observes Press Freedom Day.

In a message from the Force Public Relations Department, the police described journalists as key partners in the pursuit of truth and justice. It emphasized the importance of a free press in strengthening democratic ideals and fostering public trust.

The statement further assured media professionals of the Force’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe environment where they can perform their duties without fear or interference.

The statement read “On this World Press Freedom Day, the Nigeria Police Force recognizes the vital role the media plays in nation-building.

As partners in the pursuit of truth and justice, we would continue to create a safe environment where media practitioners can carry out their duties without fear or intimidation.”
