Candidates for the 2026 admission exercise can now verify and upload their O’Level results from home without visiting Computer-Based Test centres.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced the development in a statement signed by its Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, Ph.D.
The new process allows candidates to have their results verified directly with the examination bodies that conducted the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), starting with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
Under the arrangement, candidates can obtain a Verification Code after their results have been authenticated, then use the code to complete the O’Level upload through JAMB’s e-Facility platform.
JAMB said the measure was designed to reduce visits to CBT centres, queues and manual procedures while making the process easier and safer for applicants.
The Board also said the system would tackle problems linked to manual uploads, such as misplaced or mixed-up paper results, unverified or fraudulent certificates and mistakes in entering subjects and grades.
Through the integration of its e-Facility platform with examination bodies, JAMB said candidates’ results could be checked against records held by the issuing organisations before being downloaded into their profiles.
For the first stage, candidates are required to visit buyresultsverificationcode.ng, enter their National Identification Number (NIN) and select the number of sittings and relevant examination body or bodies.
They are then expected to provide their email address and GSM number, make payment through the available payment gateway and submit their examination details, including examination number, series and year.
After verification, candidates will obtain their Verification Code.
At the second stage, candidates are required to send “VERIFY” followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019. The result will then be uploaded, with a notification sent to the candidate.
Candidates with two sittings will be directed to their e-Facility profiles, where they are to select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload”, enter their Verification Code and access their two verified results.
JAMB said candidates must select at least five and no more than nine subjects, with no subject appearing more than once, before clicking “Apply the O’Level Results”.
A notification will be issued after a successful submission.
The Board said the verification service would offer candidates an alternative during periods of heavy patronage and network difficulties at CBT centres.
JAMB linked the initiative to the leadership of its sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, describing the move as part of a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
The Board said it would continue to deploy technology and work with examination and government agencies to make its services simpler, safer and more accessible to candidates.
