The Owa Ajaka of Age-Mowo Kingdom, HRM Aholu (Oba) Solomon Jonah Adewale Egbenayon, Jakavi I, has praised the Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area, Peter Ajose, for the ongoing construction of the Mowo–Age-Mowo road.

The monarch spoke at his palace on Saturday during an interaction with journalists, where he conveyed his appreciation for the project and its impact on the community.

Describing the intervention as timely, Oba Egbenayon said the road would improve living conditions and open up the area when completed. He noted that residents had waited years for such development before the present administration responded to their needs.

He also appealed for the project to be extended beyond the initially approved stretch, stressing the importance of broader coverage for neighbouring communities.

While commending the standard of work on site, the traditional ruler said, “The people of the community have been longing for the construction for a very long time until the present government finally came to their aid.”

The monarch further acknowledged the efforts of the Lagos State Government under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, citing progress recorded across the state, including at the grassroots.

On the project site, the construction supervisor, Saheed Balogun, confirmed that work was ongoing and that durable materials were being used. He declined to give details on the total length of the road or the completion timeline.

The Mowo–Age-Mowo road project was inaugurated in 2025 as part of activities marking the chairman’s first 100 days in office.
