The President of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Africa, Uche Udozor, has arrived in Badagry as part of activities marking the Independence Day Baseball and Softball Get-Together.
Udozor, who also heads the Nigeria Baseball and Softball Federation, was received by members of the RAK Angels Baseball and Softball Team at Suntan Beach, Badagry.
His arrival brings continental attention to the growing baseball and softball activities in the Badagry corridor, where young players are being introduced to the sports and provided opportunities to develop their abilities.
The visit also highlights the work of RAK Angels, a youth-focused sports initiative sponsored by the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development and pioneer of the Real Acts of Kindness (RAK) Development Foundation, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende.
RAK Angels was established to nurture sporting talent, empower young people and promote inclusion through sports, while creating avenues for youths in Badagry to gain exposure and connect with opportunities beyond their immediate communities.
Udozor’s presence in Badagry is expected to further draw attention to the area’s emerging baseball and softball community, with the Independence Day gathering providing a platform for players, enthusiasts and stakeholders to engage around the development of the sports.
