One of the beneficiaries appeared visibly moved as she received the support on the final day of the exercise in Ward A, Iworo–Igbanko.

Her facial expression suggested she was close to tears, creating a poignant moment during the distribution of food palliatives and cash support to residents.

The exercise, led by the wife of the Council Chairman, Mrs. Folashade Ajose, covered communities in Ward A, including riverine settlements, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary.

Another notable moment came when Ajose met 105-year-old Iya Aruwe, popularly known in Iworo and regarded as the community’s oldest woman. The Council First Lady personally extended the Independence Day gesture to the centenarian.

The outreach targeted residents requiring support, including senior citizens, widows, widowers and other vulnerable members of the community.

Mrs. Ajose was accompanied in Ward A by the Leader of the House and Councillor representing the ward, Hon. Aina Isaac Dauda; Chief of Staff, Hon. Akinyele Cornelius; Ward A Woman Leader, Mrs. Olayinka Kosoko; and Ward E Woman Leader, Mrs. Oseni Shola.

Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the intervention and offered prayers for Mrs. Ajose, Executive Chairman Hon. Peter Ajose Peter, the Olorunda LCDA administration, Lagos State and Nigeria.

The emotional reaction of the beneficiary, alongside the encounter with 105-year-old Iya Aruwe, provided two striking moments from the final leg of the exercise, which extended the council’s Independence Day relief effort to residents across different communities.

The Ward A visit brought the palliative distribution to a close after beneficiaries across Olorunda LCDA received food and financial support.
