The Imole Campaign Council is finalising records of victims of election-related violence in Osun State to support justice, accountability and compensation claims.
The council disclosed this on Tuesday through its spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, urging members of the public with outstanding reports to submit details before Friday, August 21.
The documentation covers deaths, injuries, assaults, property destruction, arrests and other forms of violence reported before, during and immediately after the Osun State Governorship Election.
The council stressed that the exercise was not restricted to members or supporters of any political party, saying victims would be documented “irrespective of political affiliation, party membership or voting preference.”
It said the process was intended to establish a credible record that could be relied upon in pursuing remedies for affected individuals and families.
“The purpose of this documentation is not merely to keep a record. It is to provide a credible basis for pursuing justice, accountability, adequate support and appropriate compensation for victims and affected families,” the statement said.
The council urged affected persons, relatives and other members of the public to provide the victim’s name, local government, ward and community, contact details or next of kin, nature of the incident, date and location, as well as a brief account of what occurred.
It also requested available supporting materials, including photographs, videos, medical or police reports and witness details, alongside the victim’s current condition or status.
The statement said reports and evidence should be sent by text message or WhatsApp to the designated phone number on or before Friday, August, 21, 2026.
The council maintained that every affected citizen deserved “our collective sympathy, adequate support, justice and appropriate compensation” regardless of political persuasion.
