The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has scheduled Saturday, June 13, 2026, for the conduct of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination mop-up exercise for candidates who were verified biometrically but could not take the examination.

In a notice issued by JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the board said the exercise is meant for candidates affected by technical issues during the examination period, as well as others whose results were withdrawn over examination misconduct and those who could not complete biometric verification.

JAMB stated that the 2026 UTME was held between April 16 and April 29, 2026, but noted that some centres experienced technical challenges, which made it impossible for affected candidates to sit the examination.

The board added that “some results were subsequently withdrawn over examination infractions, while some candidates who presented themselves for the examination could not be verified biometrically.”

It explained that all affected candidates had been captured for the mop-up examination, describing the exercise as “the final phase of the annual UTME exercise” aimed at resolving all pending issues involving candidates who appeared for the examination but were unable to complete it.

JAMB advised candidates slated for the exercise to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, June 6, 2026.

The board also urged affected candidates to familiarise themselves with their designated centres and make adequate preparations ahead of the examination date.

“There will be no further opportunity for any candidate to sit the 2026 UTME after this mop-up exercise,” the board warned.
